What Sean’s Students are Saying
Changed How I Look at Things
Sean is my favorite mentor that I’ve had. His lectures are always full of information and he knows what students need to improve on. His lectures on workflow/facial expressions really changed how I look at things while I animate. I am always amazed at how much I learn after each Q&A. His eCritiques are really detailed and talking to other classmates, he really understands what will help us all improve as animators. I wish this last class could be longer to keep learning more things from Sean!
The Best Teacher I've Ever Had
I feel like Sean is the best teacher I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot of teachers in my life. His Q&A sessions are so informative and inspiring, and he is super patient, approachable and funny – everything you could wish for. I feel really lucky to have him as a mentor. I only wish this term was longer, so I can just get more tips from him.
A Keen Critical Eye and Speedy, Direct, Feedback
Sean is a powerhouse of an instructor that mixes a keen critical eye and speedy, direct, feedback with a laid-back attitude. Classes are both relaxed and focused as Sean keeps the floor open to questions while also staying on subject. Despite some personal difficulties I’ve faced during this class, my overall time in Sean’s class has been a very positive experience!
Always Very Informative and Enjoyable
Sean’s classes are always very informative and enjoyable. His critiques each week are also extremely helpful and he does a good job making it clear what our focus should be for each submission. I feel like under Sean’s mentorship I’m really able to tie together everything I’ve learned at AM and feel confident in my abilities.
Impressive and Inspiring
Sean is the definition of a pro, and his personal story of how he got to where he is today, is both impressive and inspiring. He’s open to questions, but stays on target with his lectures, and gets a lot of information squeezed into that time. Simply put: Sean is good at his job, and if you pay attention, your skills as an animator will grow exponentially.
Critiques are Clear, to the Point, and Really Helpful
Sean is one of the best mentors I’ve had in AM. He is such a good teacher, he understands and comes from a Student’s POV. His eCritiques are clear, to the point, and really helpful. His Q&As are jam-packed with super useful info, where every other minute I’m learning something new and important. I am really grateful to have such an amazing mentor as Sean, and really appreciate every single thing he does for us.
His Q&As are Real Eye-Openers
I’ve been looking forward to Sean’s class since AN01 and he doesn’t disappoint! I really like that he doesn’t patronize us and is straight about what doesn’t work in a shot. Does it hurt, yes, does it help? tremendously! His Q&As are real eye openers on so many topics (I feel like I finally get lip sync) and his workflow makes much more sense to me. I feel like I’m improving, which I had started to doubt in the previous 2 terms. Thank you so much Sean!
My Animation Grew Incredibly Under His Guidance
After taking Sean’s class, I realize why he is so highly recommended by so many mentors and students. I feel like my animation grew incredibly under his guidance. He really pushes you to create better stories, poses and movement. Even when you thought it was good enough, he shows you how much more amazing you can make it. He really is an animation superstar. His Q&As are always spot on and really thought out. I learned so much from him. I wish I could have him as a mentor for a lot more terms.
