What Hong’s Students are Saying
Excellent Balance Between Technical and Artistic
Hong has gone above and beyond with demos showing us techniques to get our models in great shape. Excellent balance between technical (skills, commands, brushes and tools), and the artistic (getting the models to look right). Also appreciate watching how Hong will fix up our models to help us get back on track when needed, which is great reference work. Learning so much! (ps: appreciate the patience with those of us who aren’t familiar with modeling in zbrush/maya)
Always has Extra Time for His Students
I rated him a superstar because he went over some very useful tools. Also, he always has extra time for his students. I find his tutorials clear and to the point, I like the side notes Hong gives us.
A Great Teacher
Hong is very helpful when it comes to critiques and learning through notes and Q&As. He is able to answer any questions me and my classmates have. He is a great teacher and I’ve learned a lot.
One of the Best Sculpts I've Done Thanks to His Notes
When my mentor noticed I was more accustomed to sculpting he made sure to tailor notes that pushed those abilities. Even though this isn’t supposed to be a portfolio piece, I can say that it’s one of the best male sculpts I’ve done yet thanks to his notes.
A Truly Wonderful Mentor
I rated Mr. Lim the way I did because he is an outstanding mentor. He has taught me skills and tools in both Maya and ZBrush that I had never learned before. I am learning so much from him in his 3D Modeling Class, that I have made the decision to take the second course when it is available. There are no suggestions to be made, there is nothing else I can say about him, he is a truly wonderful mentor.
Very Helpful and Useful
Hong is very talented. Character design gets pretty technical. So far he has demonstrated the ability to problem solve every challenge. It is a fun class. Very helpful and useful.
Dedicated to Helping His Students Learn
Hong’s depth of knowledge in character modeling is amazing, and is dedicated to helping his students learn. The teaching is modern and applicable.
He Cares That We Learn and Understand
My mentor is really patient about what we don’t understand and he takes his time to explain, we can see that he cares that we learn and understand what we are doing. He also sends us messages to know how we are doing and he is always open for feedback 😀 and if we have a problem he helps us to know what our problem is and shows us how to solve it!
