Parents: Bring a Little Animation to the Summer
As a parent, you want what’s best for your children. You want them to achieve their dreams — and we are happy to help. Here at Animation Mentor, we’re excited to announce a special online Maya workshop designed just for high school students:
Maya Workshop: Animation Basics
Bring a little animation to the summer
Through this special pilot program, we are offering — for the first time ever — 25 high school students the chance to enroll in our six-week, hands-on workshop and to begin their journey of bringing performances to life as character animators.
Animator, Sony Pictures Imageworks
John loves to bring characters to life … and to make people laugh. His list of credits certainly proves this to be true. Look for John’s work in Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, Evan Almighty, The Chronicles of Riddick, The Day After Tomorrow, Looney Tunes: Back in Action, Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Treasure Planet, Little Nicky, Bless the Child, Mission to Mars, Bicentennial Man, Godzilla, Kull the Conqueror, Mimic, George of the Jungle, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Tron: Legacy, and Batman & Robin.
And yes, John will be the Maya workshop instructor.
Important: This is far from the typical classroom/lecture setting. Your children receive live instruction through video chats from an industry professional like John Nguyen — and practice their new skills in labs conducted by Animation Mentor alumni. They also attend live Q&A sessions online and receive critiques — just as they would in a traditional studio setting. This real-world learning environment provides invaluable real-world experience.
In addition, the workshop includes a three-year active student account to the Autodesk® Education Community with access the Maya® animation software ($3,675 value).
