Jay Jackson

As an aspiring 2D digital artist and animator, it was both helpful and informative learning from Jay Jackson. I was able to learn things from him that I hadn’t learned from previous animation classes or videos, and it’s a great pleasure learning from an experienced animator who worked for Disney for so long.

I love Jay Jackson. I could listen to him for hours talking about traditional animation. I wish there were more classes and opportunities to learn from him.

This is my favorite mentor I’ve had! Jay is very experienced and was great at showing examples and explaining improvements during critiques! I learned a lot and definitely grew!

Jay has always been very thorough in both critiques and lessons. It’s very fun and useful to hear about his experiences in the industry and be able to see his work. It makes the course feel much more real and applicable, and I hope the next course I sign up for I can get someone as patient and wise as him.

Jay is super talented and inspirational. I’m really enjoying his clear instruction. He goes through each example and points out the importance of each part. The examples of the animations that he did personally in film and other media are true works of art. Very enjoyable being in his class. It makes me want to work hard at the assignments.

I think Jay Jackson is a great mentor. He always makes a great effort in helping all of his students with their work. He is always open for questions and while he makes high demands on his students (which is a good thing!) he is fair, very patient and supportive. I am very glad to have such an experienced animator as my current mentor.
