What Justin’s Students are Saying
Simply Put. He Was AMAZING
Justin Owens. Simply put. He was AMAZING in structuring the course content and teaching it to us. I really love how it was broken down into the simplest components (i.e., first shape, then value, composition, color, etc.) and how everything was built on previous lectures. I said this in one of my comments to a critique, but I really felt like I learned more in 5 lectures (plus the final lecture without a formal assignment) than I did in a whole year of doing things on my own. I’m genuinely thankful to have had Justin as a mentor, and to be part of the AM community!
I Couldn't Ask for a Better Class
Justin was awesome and I learned more in this workshop than when I attended 3.5 years @ art institute. It’s amazing what he’s capable of doing in photoshop without reference and with reference. I couldn’t ask for a better class.
Super Welcoming of Questions
One of my favorite parts of having Justin as a mentor was that he really shared his passion for digital painting – even in just a few short weeks I was really inspired by his approach to art and it helped me get over a lot of inhibitions I had over starting to learn this new skill. Justin was super welcoming of questions in and out of our q&a’s and was a lot of fun to learn from. Thanks Justin!
I Loved Justin
I loved Justin. He spoke my language and was able to show me the very fine points that led me to take the course.
Really Appreciated Justin’s Patience and Effort
I loved the course! I really appreciated your [Justin’s] patience and effort to provide useful tips and feedback 🙂 Thank you!
Justin was Amazing
Justin was amazing, I learned so many things that on my own I hadn’t been able until this class. I managed to set up my wacom, and set up an easier way to use photoshop. I feel much more comfortable with digital painting now than before. I watched my feedback and my classmates’ feedback as well and I loved it. I wished Justin had a second class!
Amazing at Explaining Processes
I learned a lot of valuable things about using photoshop and feel confident that I’m walking away with a stronger understanding of lighting and shadow design. The mentor was amazing at explaining processes and went above and beyond in helping his students.
Very Clear and Easy to Understand
I really enjoyed how in-depth Justin was with the critiques as well as the lecture demos. Everything was very clear and very easy to understand. The critiques were especially helpful and I was impressed how much he was able to help with in such a short amount of time.
